9 months ago today I fell off my bike. It’s been a long road to recovery – something that seemed so inconsequential completely changed the year I thought 2008 would be. It has also had an impact on my family, my TSCF colleagues and the students here in Auckland that I work with.
People directly and indirectly involved have been praying for me, for us and for the work. I want to take this opportunity to say thank you for your words of encouragement, cards, chocolate, friendship and prayers. The thanks extends around the world covering (I think) every continent that people normally live on.
I also want to give thanks for God for His preservation of, and perseverance with, a man like me. He rightly has the all the glory and the praise!
The road to recovery continues and next week I will be taking the first steps of returning to TSCF life by taking up 3 hours of work each week. The hope and prayer is that these hours will continue to grow. There is a way to go yet until I’m at full strength but I’m thankful that I’m now at the position that I can begin the return to work.
Factoids about 9 months:
- Nine months is 273.931649 days
- Is the time it takes to grow a baby and to get an avocado from flower to ripe fruit
- Is the time it takes for Google to separate your personal data from your search results
- 273.931649 days from today it will be Friday November 13th and I’ll let you know what’s been happening in those days right here on this blog and in email updates (click HERE if you want to receive them).
