Small Group, Big World #wa2011
My small group from World Assembly.
Olha - Ukraine
Kimberly - USA
Chau Nog - Hong Kong
Scott - France
Denise - Trinidad
Br T - acountrythatcan'tbenamed
Florijan - Albania
We meet each day to talk and pray, discuss what's been spoken about from the front and talk through how we're doing. We have laughed and cried and this morning we argued, a little. So many cultural barriers, so many different linguistic challenges. So much that should make it impossible for us to get along. Yet, and yet, our times together have been one of the best times of each day.
To pay attention to the suffering of the oppressed church - makes us feel the power of our freedom.
To hear stories of the students - reminds us of the reason and focus of our ministry.
To experience the challenges of different cutlures - brings us to a point of recognising the diversity of the IFES world.
To share the power of God's Word in our lives - reconfirms in our experience that He is faithful to his promises.
To challenge one another - affirms that we have hope in Christ and our allegience to Him supercedes our desire for position and place
To share our vulnerability - proclaims that we are weak under the strong Lordship of Christ
But the most impressive thing, most transformational reality - is that God has built us together as a group and we together in this small group of people we are having our vision of God's plan in the great commission challenged and extended.
